Pan-Bar Gold strips are for use in drain pans of many cooling units such as air conditioners, refrigeration and dehumidifiers. You may use Pan-Bar Gold strips in catch basins of any units where standing water could begin to “grow” microbial, mold, slime, algae, bacteria or viruses. Continuous use will prevent foul odors and drain line clogging caused by the build up of micro-organisms and other undesirables.

Pan-Bar Gold strips The unique water activated time released design of this product fulfills the need of providing a foolproof automatic feed system for up to six months. This product is specifically designed to treat the standing water for the period of time between service and maintenance visits (max 6 months). The actives (50% of product by weight) include: an EPA registered biocide, corrosion inhibitor, surfactants, and odor counteractants. The product releases only in the presence of water and only metered amounts of actives. The unique entrapment system does not shrink or melt and stays where placed in the pan. One of the desirable characteristics of this product is the initial shock dose, which occurs during the first 48 hours, the product then settles down and controls "trickles" for the remainder of product life.

The pan will remain clean and free flowing, thus preventing the spread of mold, mildew and other downstream spores.

DIRECTIONS: Install the proper size Pan-Bar Gold strip in the evaporator drain pan and place it between the evaporator coil and the drain pan drain opening. Place it in the stream of water flowing from the coil to the drain pan drain fitting. Replace the strip every 6 months. Wash hands after handling strip. Dispose of old strip along with everyday trash.

Purpose:

To produce sanitized water that will not grow micro-organisms. The pan must remain clean and free flowing. The condensate drain pan in an HVAC system is the number one source of microbial growth and contamination for AC units. Keeping the pan growth free has the result of providing a trap for bio-aerosols that kills and stops the growth / spore / reproduction cycle, thus preventing the downstream spread of bacteria spores.

Technology:

The unique water activated, time released design of this product fulfills the need of providing a foolproof automatic feed system for up to six months. Competition:

The market has been dominated for years by "strips” with varying ranges of activity from 1% active to 13% active. Beware of strips that do not have enough active materials, biocides, surfactants and corrosion inhibitors. Pan-Bar Gold strips are 50% by weight.

Needs:

With the proliferation and potential of Indoor Air Quality liability issues, facility managers want a product to prevent and kill microbial growth between maintenance servicing visits. Pan-Bar Gold strips with unique six months time released technology and EPA registration specific to this application, make this product for all facility managers and engineers.

Market Areas:

These products are used in applications including: restaurants, hotels, residential homes, office buildings, schools, food stores, government offices, retail stores and hospitals. Any areas that have air conditioning, refrigeration, or humidifiers are potential customers.

Demonstration: Items needed: (2) Jars
(6) Large Nails
(1) Pan-Bar Gold strips
(1) Competitor’s strip
Directions: Put nails (3) in each jar along with product, mark the jars and fill with water.

Conclusion: The jar marked Competitor’s strip - the water will start to get milky within 48 hours and turn brown from the nails rusting. Pan-Bar Gold strips will stay clear. Advise your customer that this is what will happen to their drain pans and cause premature rusting.
